Those letters are found in the remains of an enslaved Daudaormur.
The leftover wrapping around it indicates that most of its original cover got digested. Only few pages are left readable.

Tomorrow is a special day, people with great power will come over to Ancient Greece and will try to summon dangerous creatures out of the swamp for brave hunters to fight. Many adventures and explorers have gathered to prepare for this special event. They come from all over the universe. The market slowly empties out of hunting goods since most of them are buying up all supplies for the big hunt tomorrow. This is the first time I search for some enhancers even the smaller shops around Enchanted Village are completely sold out.

I for my part hope that I can get some Codex entries on some of the stronger creatures in Ancient Greece. Usually I would not be able to fight them, but tomorrow I might be able to hit them from far away and let the more experienced hunters be in front “actually fighting them”. I usually would not be able to fight. Rumour has it that they might even attempt to summon the legendary Gorgon. If they do so, I really need to try to get in range of him without dyeing, so I can get a little kill contribution. I guess the experienced hunters will than be able to take him down… unless they summon a special version of the Gorgon. If I get the kill on him, I could finally finish a longstanding quest.

For my preparations I still need to buy quite some stuff. I should setup my Barbarella to have some range enhancers as a secure option to just hit the enemies from far. As an addition I will get some harder hitting Mindforce-Chips to have an option to fight midrange and contribute a bit more to the kill. Everything else is ready my Barbarella is fully repaired, my Sleipnir is fuelled up and I even unlocked some teleporters to be able to teleport back in case I need to run for my life.

Today I arrived in Acient Greece for the first time. After going through the teleportation on Orpheus Way it looks like I have been in some kind of temporal rift. Somehow, I ended up in a similar cave. I was quite dizzy and as I left the cave my surroundings looked completely different to what I was used to from Next Island. After walking some steps out of the cave my dizziness left, I should leave a note for newcomers, that they should not be afraid of the dizziness since it wears off after a short time. As I walked down the way from the cave exit, I saw something blurry in the distance. I could not quite get what it was, but it looked like some white building structures. From what I saw in the distance I already figured out it was not the typical look of buildings I was used to from Next Island. Step after step I went towards the city and when I got close enough my suspicion got verified, those buildings built like the ancient Greeks did it. While the structures might not be as sophisticated as our spaceproof designs today, they are impressive.

I entered the city and found myself on a bigger Market. I asked a tradesman in a white Toga, where I am at. He told me I am in Ancient Greece and welcomed me at Thebes Market. He said that this is a save place, but I should be aware that outside of the walls of Thebes there are many monsters like Myrinian, Cyclops and Bullmen. I made my way to Thebes itself and looked for a place to rest. Tomorrow I will take some time to explore the Market. If I would feel confident enough to fight some Arges I could even go up to Delphi. I thanked him and walked on, but I should really take some time to explore Thebes more when I rested tomorrow.

Today I was exploring Thebes Market, in a more secluded space I came across Nicolas. He was offering me a reward for finding enough Praetonium deposits. I agreed and thought while I don’t want to risk mining in this unknown territory, I might just go back to Next Island to finish his quest and collect my reward later. After having a good talk with him I left, while I was going around the next corner, I heard some dimmed voices talk in a nearby ally. Curious as I am, I started to head in the direction where I have last heard the voices. As I got closer, I started to pick up some words of the conversation. Something about a ship long forgotten and treasure. As I picked up those words the conversation started to spark my interest even more. On one hand I wanted to get closer to hear as much about the treasure as I could on the other hand, I was afraid that if they realize that somebody is around, they might stop their conversation. Finally, I decided to sneak as close to the corner as I could, trying to be as silent as possible. When I got to the corner, I was able to understand most of the conversation. The conversation was about a sunken ship. Apparently, it should be somewhere located far away from the shore north-east of Thebes.

I really was inclined to explore this shipwreck despite the danger that might await me. I thought to myself how dangerous these waters can be. Said and done only a few hours later I made may way north-east with some supplies from the market. Soon I saw a beautiful shore in front of me. No danger in sight I decided to swim out in the open see I headed some minutes east where I should come near supposed shipwreck. As I to my supposed target, I suddenly realised that I was not alone. There were some sharks below me, I got my weapon ready but on closer inspection I decided it is better to go away. There were at least five sharks below me and they had a bigger size than what I was used. I made my way back to the shore and Thebes save and sound. When I will be strong enough, I should make another attempt to find this shipwreck, till than I better keep this secret to myself.

This letter is pinned to the wall near the portal to the Ascalaris-Arena.

Dear adventurer
Beware of what is behind this door. You might have come here on the search for a new cute little pet. But what is behind this door is not just a cute little pet, in fact it is a dangerous one. Many adventurers before you I have seen entering the arena and only a few of them have returned with a robot on their side, most have returned with scratches and bruised from their encounter with Ascalaris. If you still want to enter this Arena enter it with a plan. Here is some piece of advice I can give you:
– Do not enter unless you have the appropriate whip ( for example a Dominax Original Boiga)
– Bring some healing with you to survive if you really want to tame the pet
– Bring enough experience in taming before you enter the arena.
– Last but not least… be patient, you might not be able to tame this on your first try.

Now you have some needed advice about the pet. There are also Rumours that this robot had a malfunction in the past but that it got fixed with and update to its software somehow. This however is only a rumour and not confirmed as far as I can tell. Let me leave you with some short phrases about this pet:

Ascalaris
Ascalaris is quite a special pet
One that is not that easy to get
Because if you tame it you will get hard hit
And if you are not prepared the fight goes to shit
But if you come prepared and succeed
It might not give you great movement speed
But it will lighten up your mood
And after level 19 it gives autoloot
This robot had a code issue
But now it is fixed for you

Good luck on your adventure to tame Ascalaris!

This letter is placed nicely at the exit of Orpheus Cave in Ancient Greece.

Dear Adventurer

If you read this, you just arrived in Ancient Greece. Do not worry about the strange feeling you might have in your stomach. This happens all the time when traveling from Next Island to Ancient Greece. This “time sickness” how I call it, normally wears off in about 15 minutes after arriving.

Some piece of advice, you should have received a new mission in your log. Somehow this mission randomly appears when doing this strange time-travel to Ancient Greece. I for one think this is somehow related to a bug in the system with the time. Anyways if you follow this mission “Meeting the Gods” it will safely lead you to the nearest village Thebes. If you listen closely to Creon Archon of Thebes, you will realize that he attests this teleportation behaviour from Orpheus Way to temporal physics. I don’t want to go in to detail here but this is a big complicated field of the physics. What you really should do is help Creon expand his temporal sensor grid. You will have to set up sensors for him in different locations. Since he is always eager to expand his grid, I guess he is happy to have the help of some more adventurers that just arrived in Ancient Greece. You might think you don’t want to run around and set up sensors! But trust me it is totally worth it! For one Creon gave me some good background on the story of Ancient Greece and on the other hand I got a beautiful and durable Falcata.

One last piece of advice, adventurer. There are many dangerous creatures if you travel the land. Even worse is exploring the waters. I really advise you to not explore the water. In my experience there is nothing to be found there besides dangerous sharks and death.

May your travels be safe.
