When you hunt in the Next Island you are killing creatures to find what loot they may hold. This loot can include such things as ammunition, healing devices, weapons, armor and other items. The value of this loot can vary depending on how common it is. These items can then be sold to the Trade Terminal for its base price, sold to other players in private trade, or sold on the Auction for a small fee. Selling to other players or through the auction will typically allow you to gain more PED from your loots.
All weapons with the exception of most melee weapons, require ammunition to fire which can be purchased from various trade terminals in the game world. There are various types of ammunition and your weapon’s information panel will tell you which ammo is required to fire it. Your weapons can be fully repairable as they decay from use or Limited versions, which will cease functioning once the condition has worn down.
You can use pistols, carbines, rifles, melee, mindforce and projectile weapons to name a few.
Mining inside Next Island can be a fun and rewarding experience.
Next Island is to a large extent a “user-driven” game.
This means that the majority of commonly used items, such as armor, weapons, tools and other items, are crafted by players. To craft an item you will need minerals and blueprints. The miners of Next Island supply the crafters with the minerals needed to craft the various items available to the other participants. As a good miner you can earn a lot of cash inside Next Island!
Mining in Next Island is one of the professions where you need the least amount of gear to get started, but it is also a profession where you need to know what to do. To mine inside Next Island you only require: a Finder/Seeker, an excavator and probes. See more about this in the Academy Section.
Crafting requires a good basic knowledge of Next Island. Before starting crafting it is highly recommended that you try the other professions such as hunting and mining. From these two professions you will gather resources that will be needed and used in the crafting of items. Mining will allow your avatar to get Enmatter and Minerals while Hunting will allow for Cloth, hides, extractors, wood, wools, animal/robot parts, sockets, oils, and other various items.
Like all of the professions in the universe you will start out with little or no skill and choose which path you would like to pursue in your crafting career. Specializing in one or two areas is recommended so that you can provide goods to other avatars that will help you with turning a profit or making MU (mark up).
The Next Island gives you vast landscapes, open seas, as well as sky and space to give you the option of taking into the sunset off the coast of Eudoria on Planet Calypso. Or to sit on top of a skyscraper and pick off zombies as they stumble about on Rocktropia. Maybe you’d like to explore deep caverns for treasure on Planet Arkadia?
