Hunting is arguably the main activity in Entropia Universe

Hunting involves killing all kinds of mutants, robots and animals using a variety of different offensive weapons.

Weapons

As mentioned, there are many different kinds of weapons to use in Entropia. From swords to rocket launchers, here are the different categories. Mindforce is not included here as it is very different from standard weapons/items.

1. Melee

a. Crush Weapons
b. Long Blades
c. Short Blades
d. Slash Weapons

2. Ranged

a. Cannons
b. Carbines
c. Mounted
d. Pistols
e. Rifles
f. Support

Using Ranged Weapons

You can equip your weapon, in this case a rifle, by opening your inventory and going to the Weapons section. Right click your weapon, and select “equip”.

In order to fire your weapon, you must have ammunition in your inventory. Different types of weapons require different ammunition, as shown:

BLP Pack: BLP Weapons

Weapon Cells: Laser Weapons

Explosive Projectiles: Launchers

Universal Ammo: All Weapons

Weapon Cells and BLP Packs can be bought from any Trade Terminal. Explosive Projectiles can be bought from the Auction. Universal Ammo is obtained from converting Shrapnel and also from various Strongboxes/Webshop Packs.

To fire the weapon, you can either left click or press “E” key. Please note this is only for the default keyboard layout. If you wish to auto-attack and lock onto a mob, simply right-click the target and your weapon will fire at the target until it is dead. Note that when using this, your avatar will move into range automatically if it is not already.

Using Melee Weapons

Most Melee Weapons do not use ammunition. As a result of this, the items decay more quickly. Using these items to hunt are essentially no different to other weapons, though you must be in very close range to your target.

Finding and Killing Mobs

There are many different types of enemies you can hunt within Entropia Universe. All of these have different amount of health, damage amount, damage type, location and so on. You can find maps detailing where you can find each different kind of mob.

Using your radar in the bottom right, you can see enemies marked by the red dots. When moving to towards your targeted mob, you will notice the crosshair around the mob turn red. This indicates that you are now in range to fire.

Before attempting to kill a mob, ensure you have:

1. Enough ammo to kill the mob

2. Enough armour/health/healing ability to avoid being killed

All mobs regenerate health over time, so if you get killed or run out of ammo, the mob will heal by the time you are able to return.

Once the mob is killed, you can right click on the body to loot it. Again, if you are out of range, right-clicking the body will move your avatar within range to complete the action.

Surviving Attacks

As a new player, you will find that most mobs around you deal large amounts of damage. Naturally, as you skill up, you will find it much easier to survive. Besides from skills, such as your health and athletics, there are two main ways to survive:

Armour

Entropia Armor

Armour pieces are equipable items that grant you additional protection.

Complete armour set:

a. Helmet
b. Harness
c. Arm Guards
d. Gloves
e. Thigh Guards
f. Shin Guards
e. Foot Guards

Each mob in Entropia Universe does differing types and amounts of damage.

For example, a robot may primarily do Burn damage, while another, Acid. You can check the wiki, as well as scan the mob in-game (using a Trade Terminal Scanner) to see what types of damage the mob does as well as what the percentage of each type is.

This can help you pick the right armour for the right mob, to give you the best chance of survival. When looking at the armour statistics, you will notice that armours offer different amounts of protection for different types of damage.

This can all seem rather complicated, and there is a bit of maths involved to get it right.

Armour comes in both Limited (non-repairable) and Unlimited (repairable) varieties. Unlimited armour loses protection as it gets damaged, whereas limited does not. Unlimited armour can regain its protection by repairing it. For even further protection, you can buy and attach various Armour Plates to armour pieces, to add additional protection values. Each piece can hold one plate.

Healing

Entropia FAP

Healing is an important part of surviving, and also can be offered as a service to other players. There two ways to heal with items, though this will just look at the main way, fap tools.

There are many different varieties of healing tools, each healing different amounts and requiring different amount of Paramedic Profession level to use. Like with most items, there are both Unlimited and Limited variants.

You can purchase a cheap tool from the Trade Terminal, and more expensive ones from the Auction or Shops.

To use, simply equip the tool and press your “Use” key, typically “E”.

Decay

Next Island New Player Area

Like all items, weapons, armour and healing tools decay with use. Each item has a decay “rate” which determines how fast the item loses value when used. Once a Limited (L) item reaches 0 value, it will no longer be usable. When an Unlimited item reaches 0, you must repair it at a Repair Terminal to use it again.

Improving Your Weapon

Guns can be equipped with many items that improve the weapon’s stats.

Amps

Amps improve the damage output of the weapon, while also increasing how much ammunition the weapon uses. Amps are specific to the type of weapon, so a BLP Amp can only be used on a BLP weapon for example. Amps offer different amounts of improved damage.

Note that your weapon can only use an amp which does 50% of the damage your weapon outputs normally. For example, if your weapon does 50 Penetration damage, then you can only equip an amp that does 25 Penetration damage. Using higher amps than this will make anything over the 25 wasted.

Sights and Scope

These items improve the chance to hit the target, and increase in effectiveness the further away the target is from you. They also improve your skilling rate when using the weapon. You can attach a maximum of one Scope, and two Sights (one of which to the scope).

Enhancers

Enhancers can be equipped to weapons that have the respective Tier Unlocked. When viewing the item information, you can see the Tiers of the weapon as shown. You improve your weapon Tier as you use it, the rate of which determined by the Tier Rate which can be seen in the item information.

If you have unlocked a Tier, you can attached an Enhancer in that slot. For example, if you have a weapon that is Tier 3, you can equip an Enhancer 1, 2 and 3 to the weapon. There are different types of enhancers that offer different benefits. These includes improvements such as damage or accuracy.

On unlimited weapons, to unlock a new Tier you must “upgrade” the weapon. This will require certain materials to complete, whereas with Limited weapons these do not require items and will upgrade automatically.
