Patrikan Habaton

Patrikan Habaton is a miner, hunter, crafter, explorer and bard

Patrikan is an explorer that explores mostly alone, well not quite alone because he has his diary with him wherever he goes. Unlucky for him he hasn’t quite figured out yet how to keep his stuff (pages) together. If you explore Next Island there might be a chance you come across some of his lost diary entries.

“Since i want to keep the stories a mystery that ties together through the pages, I will just leave my first five entries here so you get an idea of what my idea was. As well I am not sure if I did handle the thing with the images correctly. And lastly because I am not a native english speaker, please forgive me some grammar, spelling mistakes that might appear ( I tried my best). Enjoy Reading”

The diary of a shopkeeper

Getting a shop

This shopkeeper diary can be found behind the desk of stall 9 below Crystal Peak on Next Island.

Today I did it finally. I was able to get my hands on a house property deed for a small Stall on Next Island. This was quite a journey to get, when they originally started to get sold on auction, I couldn’t acquire one directly, since the wire-transfer was to slow. Although I missed the opportunity, my mentor was fast enough to grab a small booth just below Crystal Peak.

The first few weeks he setup his shop and sold mostly his Next Island loot. But since he just got the VIP Mission finished, he wanted to focus a bit more on hunting rather than taking care of a shop most of the time. This was my chance. We figure out a deal where he could make some profit as well of his initial investment of buying the shop in the first place. Besides the shop he provided me with some ideas for the shop and the information how he has been running the shop and what he sold so far. I did as well with the purchase of the shop acquire some of the items, he still had in hit shop as a starting stack to start off with the shop.

After all the payments and transfers where done. I finally was a little shop owner on Next Island. Besides having a small stall quite near the sweatcircle of Next Island, I as well heard some rumours in the bar, that there might be a nice little surprise when Christmas comes around and you are the owner of a shop on Next Island. But I guess I need to have to wait some months till I see if Santa has something in store for us this year. Anyways I am already really excited for it.

The rest of the day I was busy placing all Items on the shop: Carpets, Ores, Weapons, Sweat, Crystals and much more. I basically tried a bunch of different Items to see what would sell.

My first customer

Today I invested a lot of time to figure out what layout my shop should have. After some serious thinking around it I decided that I will provide in my shop mostly stuff for the daily use like Sweat and Lysterium for the daily crafting missions on the one hand and on the other hand a small stack of wool and animal hides for newcomers that look to get the Elysian Colorator and Bleaching Attachment. The rest consist mostly of Crystals and ores and enmatter that can be found on Next Island as a bonus I did import some Malwood Recruit Eagles from Toulan. As a small eyecatcher I placed some mysterious flower around the shop, that I could already craft but can’t use till I still need to get a better armor to be able to hunt those amazons in Ancient Greece. All I can do now is wait and hope that at least some of my goods will be bought.

I finally made my first sale. Early in the morning someone bought the first 1000 Sweat of me, even tough this is just a very small profit of some pecs, it still is my first profit on the shop so somewhat special to me. I realised that over the next days the demand of sweat was quite good at the shop, and I could make my first few peds. I guess there where people going hard on doing the gorgon wave event or they tried they’re luck on the Moloch Depths.

After the first week all I have sold was Sweat and some Boar Tails. I really hope that more will come into the mix of sold items over the next week. I will monitor the transactions of my shop closely and then decide what I want to go for and advertise my shop around. I just hope that I can somehow use the shop to sell part of my Next Island loot I get from my daily missions.

Advertise the shop

After I made my first sales of sweat my other goods mostly still look untouched, so I decided to start an advertisement offensive for the shop. I need to figure out where to place my advertisement best, so most people can see it. I figured out the following locations and advertisements so far:

I will ask Nikolas if I can hang a small letter on his door, since I guess most miners that mine around Next Island or Ancient Greece will visit him regularly for his Praetonium Challenge. I think the advertisement should be for some mining gear and go something like this: “Want to go mine and go deeper than Moloch Depths and get bigger claims than Gorgon is keeping? Get your ROCTEC M1-LF Finder together with your Level 5 Finder Amplifier now to mine deep and get richer. Find your supplies here at Crystal Peak Stall 9. “

I guess I should as well ask May as well if I could have a small advertisement placed on her wagon, to advertise some of the goods I have mined myself together with some sweat. I will advertise there the following: In need of some Vibrant Sweat and Lysterium Ignots for your daily Lesser Elysium challenge or a visit at Gorgon? Find your supplies at Crystal Peak Stall 9.”

Finally, I should put some advertisement in the local bar near Crystal Bay. I just hope the barkeeper has forgotten that I paid my last tab with a poem instead of solid peds. The advertisement should be aimed on some drunk people; therefore, I will advertise something more special than my usual stuff. “Want to feel like a special snowflake tonight? Get your Stel Holographic Unit to have a party light for every party night! Afraid you drank to much and might spill up in the morning? Prepare now and get some Armor Plate Acid, to protect your armor before your Acid breath destroys it. Find all those useful tools together with a nice Borded Mosaic Carpet to sleep in at Crystal Peak Stall 9.”

I guess tomorrow I will place all those advertisements and see what the future brings.

My first regular customer

Today I made my way to place some advertisements, I first got to Tanzanite View had a quick talk with may and she agreed to let me place my advertisement so more people can help her out with her needs for lesser Elysium Crafting. After that I made my way down to Ancient Greece and was hoping to place my next advertisement near Nikolas.

Nikolas wasn’t as easy going as May, he insisted that if I want to put my advertisement on, I first must prove my value as a miner, otherwise he wouldn’t trust that I can provide good mining tools, if I do not even know how to use them. After a bit forth and back I agreed to provide him his daily dose of Praetonium. Since I wanted to get this done fast, I grabbed an amplifier and did try mining directly on Ancient Greece. I had a quick look at my mininglog, and since I didn’t find any useful information, I decided to start my run at Knossos. Surely there must be some good claims near the legendary Gorgon I thought to myself. My first drop was a blank but already the second drop was a nice Margarian Mist Claim. It went on with quite some claims sadly besides Iron and Crude oil I really didn’t find any Preatonium. I decided to try my luck at Delphi when I suddenly got loads of notification from my shop. There was a customer buying all different kinds of items at my shop from regular sweat over some crystals and boar loot to some of my Malwood Eagles. I quickly sent him a message and wrote my appreciation for supporting my shop. He thanked me as well and said he might come back another time. With my shop half empty of the items, I sell most, I abandoned my mining run and decided to go on a longer journey to Callypso to bring some more supplies to my shop.

A humble customer saving the hangover

Last few weeks have been busy I basically only kept my shop alive by getting supplies from Callypso to Next Island or was hunting on Next Island for new supplies. As it turned out my big bulk buyer from two weeks ago turned into a regular customer who really helped to keep me afloat with the shop, hunting and oil spent traveling from Callypso to Next Island.

Tomorrow I think I can finally finish my advertisement that I neglected the last few weeks because I was busy getting new supplies trading and hunting on Next Island. Luckily in those two Weeks I finished my Praetonium task for Nikolas.

Today I woke up with a terrible headache, I knew it wasn’t a good idea to try the Greek wine from Nikolas before going to the bar on Next Island. But since he let me put up my advertisement, I agreed to have a glass of wine. Which turned in to a bottle between the two of us. I just remember that I at some point told him I need to go back and place some more advertisement, I guess I was already quite drunk when I left him because, there are just random scenes I still remember from last night. Something must have happened at the bar, because I just remember getting escorted outside the bar late last evening. My big mistake was that I did not go to sleep right there but instead decided to restock my shop while I finish my Black Mamba.

This clearly was not a good idea besides the headache, I realized that I have sold Sweat for 9 PED. Normally I would price 5k Sweat at 8.5 PED. Having a sale of 9 PED could only mean that I mistakenly placed my 50k Sweat at 8.5 PED instead of 5k Sweat. Luckily the buyer of that Sweat was my regular buyer. I got in touch with him and asked if I might have mispriced some of my Sweat. He laughed and said, he saw some cheap sweat in my shop and thought he rather take it out before someone else takes it. It really made my day that he agreed to hand me back 40k of the sweat he bought. Despite my headache hammering in my head while I write this, I am happy to have such an honest and loyal customer.

Although I got up today with a terrible headache from my night at the Beach Bar, I still remember a conversation I had with one of the locals about the lonely ape. In fact, since the ape never was seen near a civilisation of Next Island and according to the description lives where not many people pass by, the local insisted to rather call him a very lonely ape. From the description I got the local told me to go to Hillside Hideout and travel north from there on.

After some time of traveling with my Sleipnir I finally arrived at Hillside Hideout, there was a small Shed where Joan the Gentle stood firm, but he told me to mind my own business, so I moved on the slope up the mountain. Always checking my compass that I should be heading north. When I reached the top of the slope, I enjoyed the view back and, in the distance, I could see a river crossing the planes. After a small break I went on passing through mountains in the middle of nowhere. I checked my compass once again since I wasn’t sure anymore if I was heading to the right direction. Suddenly a tower appeared in the far distance and a big pillar, I was not sure if this was a natural rock pillar or if it was human shaped. Anyways I got into my Sleipnir and flew across the canyon.

To my surprise when I reached the big pillar, I suddenly explored a teleport in this deserted place. The Death Valley Teleport seemed to be a fitting name for a teleport where you could fall down a cliff in almost all directions. There was only one path leading down from my location and to it’s right there was a natural platform. And there I saw the lonely ape just standing near the edge.

Despite my genuine interest of solving that old Next Island mystery, my mining addiction carries me away from time to time, especially when it looks like there are many claims that like to be discovered in a deserted place. Instead of speaking to the lonely monkey near Death Valley Teleporter as intended yesterday, I dropped a mining probe, since I instantly hit a lysterium deposit. I pressed on and did a big mining run all the way from Death Valley teleporter across the river and up again to Conq’s Rest. When I arrived there in the late afternoon, I needed a rest myself and sort all the ores I have mined.

Today I was fresh and ready for finally solving that mystery. I ported to Death Valley and spoke to the very lonely ape. Surprisingly the ape was already expecting me to ask him about the pyramid. He said I look as if an interesting question was about to leavy my lips. Something is strange with this ape, because the next thing that he said was: “Most people who pass me by have nothing to say that I want to hear”. This sounds to me as if this ape can read minds. How is he otherwise supposed to know what people that are passing by would want to say without them even speaking to him. As well before I even asked my question, he knew I was different, and I had something special on my mind.

After my question and the short conversation, he told me to go back to the pyramid and decipher the text. I ported back to shadow hill and made my way back to the pyramid. This time when I approached the symbols of the pyramid, I could finally read them, but I still could not really make sense of them. I guess I must think about them while drinking a Black Mamba at the bar. Maybe it will inspire me for some smart idea that will make sense of these words.

“Spirits of the blue menace, this we build for you. You who seem to move through dimensions and possess others, this we build for you. We wish you now give us peace, since this was built for you.” This is the inscription on the pyramid. As for now it’s hard to make sense of these word but yesterday I had several ideas at the bar how I could interpret them.

My first thought was not about the writing itself but why did this lonely ape know how to read the ciphers on the pyramid. There are three options:

  1. He witnessed those spirits of the blue menace
  2. He was part of the group that was originally building the pyramid
  3. He is a spirit of the blue menace

Let’s pick all those theories apart one by one.

  1. If he just was witnessing either the building of the pyramid or the spirit of the blue menace it would still not explain why he can read their language. From this standpoint he needed to at least have interacted with either the spirits or the group that built the pyramid. When he interacted with the spirits it would be strange that he would not be affected by such powerful beings. Only explanation for this theory would be that he was trading with the group that built the pyramid and therefore knew their language.
  2. What supports the theory that he was helping in building the pyramid is that he knew how to read all those signs. He knew about the pyramid from the start. In this case I would assume that he and all other Papoos on Next Island might have been smart beings before they started to get possessed by this spirit of the blue menace. Going by this theory this lonely ape and Sebastian would be some of the only ones that got not possessed and therefore are still able to speak and express themselves.
  3. He is himself a spirit of the blue menace or is possessed by one of these. What supports this theory is mainly a feeling… the feeling that from my first interaction with him it did feel as if he could read my mind.

Despite my theorizing I think finally there is no other way of finding out what this pyramid is all about than confronting this lonely ape again. I really hope I will get some more information after we talk.

Since I couldn’t find any more information about this pyramid, I visited the lonely ape again. When I approached him, he told me that there is no reason for me to speak. This was quite an odd way to start a conversation, or was it more stopping a conversation, but since I met him before I knew he can be a bit strange. He went on telling me that he already knows what I want to know and that he can’t answer my question and is not sure that anybody could. Still, he provided me with the information that I should look for something old and out of place on the planet. And before I got to ask him where I should start my search or what exactly I should look for, I remembered that I think I have read something about it somewhere in the northern part of the desert.

This time I didn’t search the northern desert around Shatterrock. Instead, I started my search just south of flashpoint and explored around the coast of this desert if I find any of those pillars. I went a long way along the shore and after some time I reached Salvation Outpost, I haven’t really found any special pillars but at least the view of the big lake in the middle of Next Island accompanied me along the way. I made a short rest and pressed on towards Kamba Outpost, crossed a small river on they way and arrived in Kamba Outpost a bit later.

Since I already covered over half of the north of the desert, I thought I go and ask some locals if they have heard or seen those strange pillars. Even tough I didn’t get any helpful information Hiresh hired me to kill some Arges and promised me some crystals I can choose from as reward. Since I needed to kill some Arges anyways for my Ascalaris Mission, I got side-tracked once again and made a trip to Ancient Greece for the rest of the day.

Today was finally the day I found the cluster of pillars. After having a sleep and getting my rewards from Hiresh in the Mmrning, I went to the west of Kamba Outpost near the cost. After a short time, I realized that there are many wild boars in the distance. I went out of reach on a ledge and soon saw a forest in the distance, when I realized that to my left there seemed to be some pillars below me. I stopped took and slowly approached them. After all this talk with the ape and thoughts about the spirit of the blue menace, I was cautious to not make any dumb moves. As I approached, I saw something between the pillars, it did strike me quite odd to see something growing in the middle of nowhere. Something different than the usual trees that have acclimated themselves to the desert.

In the middle of those pillars there was a big mushroom, with a strange fog around it. Not only the fog was strange, but the size of the mushroom was really impressing as well, also from the distance I could tell that he was quite a bit taller than I am. Quite near the mushroom there was a broken cartwheel that looked to be quite old from a long forgotten time. In this moment I realized that I have seen some sign like that mushroom on the pyramid. I went on and touched the mushroom and had a feeling that reminded me of my first travel to Ancient Greece, but I didn’t teleport away. Something still seems to be missing. I may need a teleportation key that this mushroom works.

I decided to go back to the pyramid and have again a close look at the signs and there I saw some symbols that were familiar. It looks like I would need some magic flowers, amazon legs, chimera hearts and cyclops wrist guards. From the paintings I need them all when I go to the mushroom.

Some of those ingredients I already have in my storage, but I am afraid some of them like the amazon legs still are missing. I am not as confident as I was before in revelling this mystery after knowing that I need a leg of a creature that outright kills me when I go near them. For now I have come far with the mystery, but I might wait a few months till I can hunt amazons myself, before I will attempt to solve this mystery completely.

Random Letter 16

This letter has can be found when looting a Screecher Provider on Next Island. It looks as if it was digested with a small piece of meat and still has some bloodstains on it.

Today while I did my daily Lesser Elysia crafting in Tanzanite View I passed by the Haruspex Elder that told me about Ancient Greece back in the days. Today he had a new secret for me, he was looking for some help because of a tragedy that has occurred in his realm. While I still not quite understand what their realm is exactly is, I still was curious to hear what have happened there. He told me that they created an armor as a thank you gifts for the continued support of us humans provided between here and Ancient Greece. After they planed the whole armor out and have had the actual blueprint for the armor. The formation of the armor they entrusted the Molochs some Ancient Greece primordial race. Since they are all experienced bullmen miners they seemed to be perfect for the job, however they stood under the influence of Demra. Demra seems to be a strong power I still need to learn about since I haven’t heard of her before as far as I remember. Nevertheless, it seems to be an evil ancient power, so I got tasked from the elder to retake the gift. But to even get near those Molochs, I first need to perform a ritual that involves a blood sacrifice to be able to enter their realm. To have a big enough blood sacrifice I need to kill 1000 Great White Sharks, 2000 Desert Crawlers and 5000 Screechers.

Although I am not sure if I am strong enough to finish this task, I figured I can as well try, since the elder told me that time is of essence as well, or the Molochs might use the power of the armor to take the world. I will go to a local shop and get some amplifiers, that way I can immediately start with the Screechers since I should be able to handle them with the right equipment. I should as well grab the Screecher containment quest on the side to get some extra oil for the task.

First, I will go to the local shop and buy me some amplifiers for my mindforcechip. I am quite confident that I should be able to handle the Screecher sacrifice. To be re l pr pa

Conq45

This letter is pinned to a Construction Machine in Conq’s Rest

Today was a very special event on Next Island. It was the funeral of Conq45. I was touched by the number of Islanders and people all around the universe that have gathered for this last goodbye. As I joined the circle that formed, I was well joined all the nice memories that got shared that people have had with him. I for once only remember him from the BIG Industries warp flights. That helped me out immensely as I was quite new. He had the patience to explain how all of it works. His presence in the universe really touched and positively influenced the life of many different people.

After sharing those stories, we all went to the edge and formed a line looking up to the sky. There was what I felt a short moment of silence, where we just staired out in the sky and all remembered our stories, we had with Conq, while there was a big wormhole on top of us. After that we got asked to take a leap of faith. I did not think much of it at the time and was impressed, when I found myself in a cave dedicated to Conq. As I only remembered him from the warp flights I was pleased to hear and see all the deeds he accomplished. Standing at the cave as I write these words, I want to give you a small goodbye poem.

Conq we did not have much to do

But you helped me out when I was quite new

You were helpful to many people not only me

And for this you will be in our loving memory

You helped many people with your spaceflight

And had patience while secretly fighting your own fight

I heard many stories on your farewell

But they are not mine to tell

I know you helped many communities

You’re an inspiration Conq45 Rest in Peace

This three-page journal describes the adventures of finding the mysterious pyramid on Next Island. The journal can be found in the magical forest behind the smaller tree trunk.

The mysterious pyramid

Recently I was walking around Conq’s Rest because I wanted to go back and pay his nice memorable place a visit. As well as trying out my luck with the crafting machines that are stationed there. Anyways before I got to take my leap of faith. A building caught my attention. I passed this place quite sometimes, but I never realized that you could enter and visit the big building. Immediately I changed plans and went to explore the building. I was quite surprised by the number of different artefacts you could find there. Once you enter the building for example you see a big statue of an Ancient Greece fighter and in a vitrine nearby a nice statuette and a small display of Ascalaris. You can look at some holographic lamps with the symbol of Resa, Stel and the other factions. There were some banners of those factions as well, right besides a cyclops and some Gorgon armor from Ancient Greece. All those artefacts I did expect to be in an exhibition of the things of Next Island and Ancient Greece but there was one artefact on display that did strike me as very odd.

This artefact was a glowing pyramid, it especially sparked my interest because it was something I would not expect when thinking of iconic things of Next Island. I know Sebastian seems to live in remains of a pyramid as well, but this pyramid seems to be different: There is a stair that is lighten up with energy and rumours have it, that this mysterious pyramid is located somewhere in the western dessert. I guess this looks like a mystery I like to solve. I will study the strange looking text and prepare for an expedition to the western desserts tomorrow.

The search for the pyramid

After studying the map of Next Island, I made out a few things what the desert in the west could be. My strongest guess is that it is somewhere near Shatterrock. The other option would be that it is more located in the south. But since I got the implication of western desert, I figured it will be west of where the replica of the pyramid can be seen.

I equipped my Maze Hammer and did go west of Shatterrock for some exploring. I must have walked the desert for about a minute when a C.A.R.E Mk10 started to attack me. Not soon after, I had to revive back on the outpost. I needed a new approach. No sooner said than done I took out my Sleipnir and explored the rest of the desert in the next hour from a save distance. Sadly, I have not found any indication of the pyramid I was searching. Although this lead was a dead end, I had now a better plan to explore the southern desert, my second guess for the location, so I hopped in my Sleipnir and flew down to the southern desert. Starting from Kamba outpost I went south, past a small river than almost hit a mountain because I mostly paid attention to what was below me and not what was in front of me. I flew down all along the river all the way past Serpentine Village and Shadow Hill till I reached Oasis Outlook. Tired of the long travel, I decided to go to Cecily, to help her with their Problems with Red Papoo Stalkers. She always has a little something if you can kill 50 of them by using only a NI Basic Laser Pistol. But as soon as I left her, I realized that for one it was already quite late, and I haven’t gotten any pistol in my inventory. I decided to go to Serpentine Village to grab a Pistol and speak with some fellow Islanders if they can help me with the pyramid search before I call it a day.

Finding the pyramid and its secrets

After having such a long search yesterday, I seem to have gotten lucky. A stranger approached me in the morning. He said he have heard me talking in the bar about searching for a mysterious pyramid. For a ped he could point me in the direction of there whereabouts of this pyramid. As I agreed he said I should go to Shadow Hill and fly northeast. The pyramid should be in the middle of the following outposts: Shadow Hill, Morion Outpost and Serpentine Village.

With this new information I couldn’t wait to get on my Sleipnir to Shadow Hill and search the pyramid. I seem to have been so close but just looking in the wrong direction. I flew in the direction he told shortly got distracted by a nice little pond in the distance with some palm trees around it. After a short break there I continued towards northeast. Just shortly after I saw the pyramid in the distance on top of a plateau. When I approached closer there was a mystical fog surrounding the pyramid. And in the fog, there were some creatures that looked familiar but different- Ghostly Screechers. I was afraid they would attack me but found out that they were not hostile towards me.

I went closer to the pyramid only to realize it was full of writings in a Language I can not read. Seeing the replica of the Pyramid I could see the writings but just thought they might be too small to read, but even having them big in front of me I just could not make any sense out of those signs. After thinking a bit, the only feasible solution was to find someone who is on Next Island since years if not centuries. After thinking about that it came to my mind, that I have heard of a lonely ape that wondered Next Island long before I was here. I figured he should be somewhere in the Northeast. Since I did not remember it exactly, I went back to Crystal Peak and did what I always do in dire situations. I went to the Beach Bar and grabbed a drink speaking to locals for some more Information.

The leftover wrapping around it indicates that most of its original cover got digested. Only few pages are left readable.

Tomorrow is a special day, people with great power will come over to Ancient Greece and will try to summon dangerous creatures out of the swamp for brave hunters to fight. Many adventures and explorers have gathered to prepare for this special event. They come from all over the universe. The market slowly empties out of hunting goods since most of them are buying up all supplies for the big hunt tomorrow. This is the first time I search for some enhancers even the smaller shops around Enchanted Village are completely sold out.

I for my part hope that I can get some Codex entries on some of the stronger creatures in Ancient Greece. Usually I would not be able to fight them, but tomorrow I might be able to hit them from far away and let the more experienced hunters be in front “actually fighting them”. I usually would not be able to fight. Rumour has it that they might even attempt to summon the legendary Gorgon. If they do so, I really need to try to get in range of him without dyeing, so I can get a little kill contribution. I guess the experienced hunters will than be able to take him down… unless they summon a special version of the Gorgon. If I get the kill on him, I could finally finish a longstanding quest.

For my preparations I still need to buy quite some stuff. I should setup my Barbarella to have some range enhancers as a secure option to just hit the enemies from far. As an addition I will get some harder hitting Mindforce-Chips to have an option to fight midrange and contribute a bit more to the kill. Everything else is ready my Barbarella is fully repaired, my Sleipnir is fuelled up and I even unlocked some teleporters to be able to teleport back in case I need to run for my life.

Today I arrived in Acient Greece for the first time. After going through the teleportation on Orpheus Way it looks like I have been in some kind of temporal rift. Somehow, I ended up in a similar cave. I was quite dizzy and as I left the cave my surroundings looked completely different to what I was used to from Next Island. After walking some steps out of the cave my dizziness left, I should leave a note for newcomers, that they should not be afraid of the dizziness since it wears off after a short time. As I walked down the way from the cave exit, I saw something blurry in the distance. I could not quite get what it was, but it looked like some white building structures. From what I saw in the distance I already figured out it was not the typical look of buildings I was used to from Next Island. Step after step I went towards the city and when I got close enough my suspicion got verified, those buildings built like the ancient Greeks did it. While the structures might not be as sophisticated as our spaceproof designs today, they are impressive.

I entered the city and found myself on a bigger Market. I asked a tradesman in a white Toga, where I am at. He told me I am in Ancient Greece and welcomed me at Thebes Market. He said that this is a save place, but I should be aware that outside of the walls of Thebes there are many monsters like Myrinian, Cyclops and Bullmen. I made my way to Thebes itself and looked for a place to rest. Tomorrow I will take some time to explore the Market. If I would feel confident enough to fight some Arges I could even go up to Delphi. I thanked him and walked on, but I should really take some time to explore Thebes more when I rested tomorrow.

Today I was exploring Thebes Market, in a more secluded space I came across Nicolas. He was offering me a reward for finding enough Praetonium deposits. I agreed and thought while I don’t want to risk mining in this unknown territory, I might just go back to Next Island to finish his quest and collect my reward later. After having a good talk with him I left, while I was going around the next corner, I heard some dimmed voices talk in a nearby ally. Curious as I am, I started to head in the direction where I have last heard the voices. As I got closer, I started to pick up some words of the conversation. Something about a ship long forgotten and treasure. As I picked up those words the conversation started to spark my interest even more. On one hand I wanted to get closer to hear as much about the treasure as I could on the other hand, I was afraid that if they realize that somebody is around, they might stop their conversation. Finally, I decided to sneak as close to the corner as I could, trying to be as silent as possible. When I got to the corner, I was able to understand most of the conversation. The conversation was about a sunken ship. Apparently, it should be somewhere located far away from the shore north-east of Thebes.

I really was inclined to explore this shipwreck despite the danger that might await me. I thought to myself how dangerous these waters can be. Said and done only a few hours later I made may way north-east with some supplies from the market. Soon I saw a beautiful shore in front of me. No danger in sight I decided to swim out in the open see I headed some minutes east where I should come near supposed shipwreck. As I to my supposed target, I suddenly realised that I was not alone. There were some sharks below me, I got my weapon ready but on closer inspection I decided it is better to go away. There were at least five sharks below me and they had a bigger size than what I was used. I made my way back to the shore and Thebes save and sound. When I will be strong enough, I should make another attempt to find this shipwreck, till than I better keep this secret to myself.

This letter is pinned to the wall near the portal to the Ascalaris-Arena.

Dear adventurer
Beware of what is behind this door. You might have come here on the search for a new cute little pet. But what is behind this door is not just a cute little pet, in fact it is a dangerous one. Many adventurers before you I have seen entering the arena and only a few of them have returned with a robot on their side, most have returned with scratches and bruised from their encounter with Ascalaris. If you still want to enter this Arena enter it with a plan. Here is some piece of advice I can give you:
– Do not enter unless you have the appropriate whip ( for example a Dominax Original Boiga)
– Bring some healing with you to survive if you really want to tame the pet
– Bring enough experience in taming before you enter the arena.
– Last but not least… be patient, you might not be able to tame this on your first try.

Now you have some needed advice about the pet. There are also Rumours that this robot had a malfunction in the past but that it got fixed with and update to its software somehow. This however is only a rumour and not confirmed as far as I can tell. Let me leave you with some short phrases about this pet:

Ascalaris
Ascalaris is quite a special pet
One that is not that easy to get
Because if you tame it you will get hard hit
And if you are not prepared the fight goes to shit
But if you come prepared and succeed
It might not give you great movement speed
But it will lighten up your mood
And after level 19 it gives autoloot
This robot had a code issue
But now it is fixed for you

Good luck on your adventure to tame Ascalaris!

This letter is placed nicely at the exit of Orpheus Cave in Ancient Greece.

Dear Adventurer

If you read this, you just arrived in Ancient Greece. Do not worry about the strange feeling you might have in your stomach. This happens all the time when traveling from Next Island to Ancient Greece. This “time sickness” how I call it, normally wears off in about 15 minutes after arriving.

Some piece of advice, you should have received a new mission in your log. Somehow this mission randomly appears when doing this strange time-travel to Ancient Greece. I for one think this is somehow related to a bug in the system with the time. Anyways if you follow this mission “Meeting the Gods” it will safely lead you to the nearest village Thebes. If you listen closely to Creon Archon of Thebes, you will realize that he attests this teleportation behaviour from Orpheus Way to temporal physics. I don’t want to go in to detail here but this is a big complicated field of the physics. What you really should do is help Creon expand his temporal sensor grid. You will have to set up sensors for him in different locations. Since he is always eager to expand his grid, I guess he is happy to have the help of some more adventurers that just arrived in Ancient Greece. You might think you don’t want to run around and set up sensors! But trust me it is totally worth it! For one Creon gave me some good background on the story of Ancient Greece and on the other hand I got a beautiful and durable Falcata.

One last piece of advice, adventurer. There are many dangerous creatures if you travel the land. Even worse is exploring the waters. I really advise you to not explore the water. In my experience there is nothing to be found there besides dangerous sharks and death.

May your travels be safe.

This letter was attached to your survey probe while you were mining for ores near Draken Stand on Next Island. It seems to be in quite bad shape, as if it got lost by accident by a fellow miner that was prospecting this territory. Despite the dirt, you can read some passages of the letter.

.. fa t tha I ha e found about this stone. I will try to keep them in a short poem, as a crafting material that is used for unique vehicles as the Sorensen stone really deserves his own art dedicated to him.

The Lore of the Ore

This stone was something that Arthur did discover
When he just searched a place to recover
After a fight where he knocked a Papoo prone
Tired he did lay down and found the Sorensen Stone
It was a field on field nearby on Next Island
When he turned around, he had this stone in his hand
The stone wasn’t good for him to sleep
But for crafting it was something he wanted to keep
He thought for some vehicles this stone might be fine
He started getting the stone shape through refine
The stone was forgotten for quite some time
To the point where his low markup was almost a crime
But this year finally he gained again some popularity
And all because the Skyripper Loyalist came to be

This looks like it was the original ending of the page. There seems to be an edit written on the bottom of the page in a different ink, which seems to be more recent.

Today I found some additional facts about Sorensen Stone to add to the ones mentioned in the poem.
1. First-Waver Sorensen was also known as Arthur, the Official Island Greeter. The part about Island Greeter I could not confirm since some Information seems to have been lost.
2. Besides Vehicles there seems to be a Weapon named the Liberator that can be crafted using Sorensen’s Stone.

It looks like there was another entry at the bottom, sadly it is completely covered in dirt.

Random letter 12

This letter is attached to the shop at Enchanted Village which is closest to the teleporter.

Dear kind soul

I have been several months now on this planet. Finally, I found a way to stay afloat while helping the people with all their problems on Next Island, like the cartographer who always wants me to kill some more village boars. Anyways this letter is in memory to my start on Next Island. As a token of appreciation and short story for all adventurers passing by this shop. Here is the story of how I discovered most of this Island.
It was back at the start where I was afraid to leave most placed like crystal bay. Since I was afraid to leave too far out and needed some Lysterium Stone I tried to contact some traders on the corresponding trade channel. Quite fast a kind soul answered and asked me to trade him at Shoreline Flats. I told him I have not discovered the Next Island enough to have reached that Teleporter. Kind as he was, he said I should wait and took me in his Quad-Wing Interceptor to the Shoreline Flats. While traveling there I saw a lot of Animals that would have killed me if I would have tried to walk there, like some Mountain Boars and big Screechers. When I landed on this beautiful place right next to the river. He invited me to a very nice boat-trip along the river into the big lake in the middle of Next Island after some hours we ended up in a smaller river again till we finally arrived, surrounded by a swarm of dangerous sharks at Resa Docks. We stepped out of the boat, and I discovered my next teleporter. I quickly realized that the teleporter-network of this planet seems to be quite good and asked him to have a tour around the planet to have some of them unlocked. He agreed and gave me a teleporter-tour on his Quad-Wing Interceptor. Besides all the new teleporters I got a Manikin as a small starting present from him. After that, our ways mostly parted, but I get in contact to him from time to time. This letter should be a reminder to all Islanders, that there are many kind souls on this island that help others. On top of that it is as a new adventurer do not be afraid to ask for help or advice.

P.S: If you are interested in finding all Next Island teleporters, I have a letter containing this information placed at Orpheus Way.

Random letter 13

This Letter is attached to the big palm tree behind right next to the teleporter of Orpheus Way.

Dear adventurer

Since you reached this teleporter, it seems that you start to know your way out and about Next Island. This is the reason I will give you here some piece of advice when you are going to explore further. Teleporters like the one just behind you are all over Next Island and make the travelling fast and save. Normally you just stumble across them while exploring, but there is another way to track them down. If you use your datapad and enter /wp and the corresponding Location and coordinates of the teleporter you get a waypoint on your map to head towards. This can come in quite handy since this way you will not miss nearby teleports when you are adventuring out in the wild. Try it out with a teleport you already got and know: Type /wp [Next Island, 137093, 83307, 103, Crystal Bay] in your datapad. You should now have a waypoint where your Crystal Bay teleporter is located.

Generally, there is a good teleportation network on this planet, I will give you a list of the teleporters on the second page. But for now, we focus on something that is very special on Next Island there is a special Teleporter that will Teleport you to a whole new world “Ancient Greece”. I heard that this special Teleporter is somehow linked to the magic of the Haruspex or at least that they know more about the anomalies behind this portal and its anomalies of interdimensional travel.

How to find this special teleporter:
From where you have found this letter travel north till you reach a small river with an ancient pillar nearby and a single palm tree right next to it. After that swim across the river, you should see some carriage in the distance. Then follow the path upwards, you should pass several ancient pillars on your way. When you did walk far enough you should hear a waterfall in the distance. Head towards the waterfall and hidden behind it you will find a mysterious cave. Turn right and you see a teleporter that can teleport you from this location “Orpheus Cave” to another “Orpheus Cave” teleporter in Ancient Greece. There are reports of dizziness after using this teleporter, I personally have used it quite often, but only the Haruspex will know if there are some long lasting damages for using the teleporter.

Congratulation you now have found the secret teleporter. All the locations of the normal teleporters of Next Island are listed on the next letter.

It looks like someone has taken the whole letter with all teleportation location since you still see a small piece of paper on the nail that fixed the two letters to the palm tree.

This letter is fixed with a nail to the door of the small cabin that is right next to Oasis Outlook.

Dear explorer

I once was entering this cabin as I searched shelter from the nearby Chimeras. At the time I had a task to kill 50 of those beasts. Naive as I was at the time, I thought I can fight them by myself, tried failed and did run to this cabin. I recovered slowly and was about to abandon this task, return and admit that I have failed. On my way back to Crystal Peak I did hear of a special PFEU-Hunt. You basically get ammunition and a weapon, and you than go hunt in a big team. Without hesitation I signed up for their next hunt and got picked. Before I could even process that I got picked, I found myself in a big carriership that did take us to Oasis Outlook and those Chimeras that chased me off before. But this time I was not alone but back with reinforcement, I had six teammates equipped with the same gun as I had and a team leader that did not only organize us and assign the target we needed to focus but healed us as well. This way you could focus on shooting the Chimeras and just having a good time with our fellow hunters. This PFEU Hunt event really gave me a good redemption on my fight with the Chimeras and let me finally finish this quest. Besides of that it was the only way to hunt bigger beasts as a new player like: Sharks, Desert Crawlers, Chimeras, Portal Guardians C.A.R.As.

Here are some of the basic rules when you want to attend a PFEU Hunt:

1. This hunt is a sponsored hunt, which means you will get a free weapon and ammunition at the start of the hunt.
2. The hunt will be done in a group and the loot will be shared loot. Since you have a sponsored gun and ammunition, there is no reason to complain about bad loot. Just have a good time and enjoy yourself.
3. To make the hunt for everyone fair do not use any upgrades or other weapon, only use the weapon provided by the host of the hunt. If you are out of ammunition, feel free to go on with sweating.

See you in the next PFEU Hunt.

This letter was attached to your survey probe while you were surveying for energy matter near Screeching Hollow on Next Island. It seems to be in quite bad shape, as if it got lost by accident by a fellow miner that was surveying this territory. There seems to be liquid spilled over the letter.

Phlogiston

This energy matter that can only be found on Next Island captured my attention for the simple fact, that according to my knowledge it should not exist. Back in the 1700s there was a thesis from Georg Ernst Stahl that said it is a substance that exhaust during the process of burning any material. As far as I am concerned this thesis was refuted when in the 1780s people realized that Oxygen is used in the process of burning anything on earth. It is quite fascinating to find this energy matter which should theoretically not exist on a planet so far away.
Questions I need to research to this topic:

Is the refined Phlogiston more stable, so it can be used with no harm in the process of crafting?
Is the Phlogiston here on Next Island somehow linked to the special magic of the Haruspex?
Do the atmospheric properties of Next Island have any influence on the Phlogiston?
What are the reasons that Next Island seems to be the only Planet where Phlogiston can be found?

The easiest way of going about this first question is, to see what can be crafted with Phlogiston. As far as my research goes, Phlogiston in his unrefined form is not used in any crafting processes known today. This indicates that there is a core difference between that unrefined and refined state, besides the change of colour that appears when refining it. As for the refined state I saw free main categories of crafted goods that it is used for: Armours, Vehicles and Holographic Projectors.

It makes completely sense that Phlogiston is used in the process of crafting vehicles as a kind of power enhancer for the burning processes in the motor. Despite that it is quite surprising that the armours that are crafted with Phlogiston provide burn g res sta ce. A explo tion f r th..

The lower part of the letter is not readable anymore because of the brown liquid that is spilled over it.

This note was found nicely placed inside of a magic flower near Tanazite View

Hello Explorer
I guess Frederick told you to search some magic flowers for him. I once had to finish this tedious task as well, and would have given up, if it were not for the help, I got from other people to find these magic flowers. To pass on the favour I received, I will share the knowledge of how I found all those magic flowers:
– Generally, those flowers are not always in the exact same location, but in my experience, they tend to be in a similar location.
– I happened to find more of those flowers on Tuesday, but maybe that was just my lucky day. Here is a list of areas I have found magic flowers:
– Often, I have found flowers at locations where there was a teleporter nearby.
– The best spot so far for searching these flowers is around the buildings of Enchanted Village. I have often found more than one magic flower, up to three, in this place.
– Besides the best location easy and save location to acquire these flowers are: First-Wave Settlement , Monrion Outpost, Misty Outpost, Oasis Outlook, Pearl Cove, Shoreline Flats, Paradise Landing. I guess there are other spots but those were the ones I relied on.
– There is also a magic flower on Xrager Island, but I was too afraid of the Stormdrakes around there.

This is all the knowledge I could gather. One last thing please do not pick up the flowers if you have no use for them. That is all, now the only thing left to do for me is wishing you good luck explorer!
Greetings
Patrikan Habaton

P.S: If you finally have found all those magic flowers, return to Tanazite View to receive a Bonus-Challenge. You will need to go gather some resources from Boars, Cyclops and Papoos. Do not sell the resources once you completed your hunt, since the resources you gathered can be used in the Blueprint you get for gathering those resources to craft your very own decorative magic flower.

This is a half-digested page that you found in the remains of a mountain boar. It seems to be a diary page and has oddly enough a fruitcake smell to it.

Today I felt like exploring the Island for a bit. For the first time I left Crystal Peak and went through the little village. As I left the village behind me, I soon encountered a fence full of boar piglets and just several meters away from it I found my first Teleporter “Papoo Village”. I moved and saw in the distance a big sensor, not looking where I am going, I suddenly fell and ended up in the water. I swam to the board on the other side and walked up towards the forest. Not really paying attention to my surroundings I suddenly realized that Red Papoo stormed the area, as it looked like I have stepped foot in their territory. Realizing am too weak to fight them, I sprinted into the near forest. As I realized that I could flee the red Papoo I found myself near some ancient ruins. I went ahead to explore the ancient ruins, when I saw from the distance a Papoo with a red hat and some sunglasses. This one seemed different to the other ones I saw before, therefore I approached him slowly. To my big surprise he was a talking monkey who introduced himself as Sebastian. He asked for a favour, to kill some Boar Piglets to make the live better for his non-modified Papoo cousins. Since he promised me some shiny stuff he found in the forest. I ask him for the direction back to the boar piglets and made my way back to the fence I have seen before. As I write this, I take a break on a rock outside the fence. I guess after I am finished with eating my food and getting some of my fruitcake, I will take finish the 28 boars left for Sebastian and then take on a bigger one of those boars this afternoon.

These scribblings were made by the Bartender of Next Island Tiki Bar. He wrote it down after some drunkard made a freestyle and said it is a payment for the booze he drank. The Bartender was hoping to sell it to the next drunkard as a funny Poem, if he is willing to pay for the tab of the one who left without payment.

There is something important I need to say
Today I get wasted and drink my pain away
Sadly a mountain boar took all I had
My food, my notes my whole bag
But I this is not gonna get me down
Tonight I am the partyking so hand me my crown
Or for starters a Black Mamba Next Liquors Mix
For that I would even show you some magic tricks
I might not be able to summon a horse
But I’m a novice user of mindforce
So if it’s magic you admire
I gladly can create a small fire
This would be dangerous inside the Tikibar
So we better get away from the wood quite far
For example, outside to the shore to the beach
But not to close to the water, stay outside the sharks reach
We gonna have a true Next Island partynight
Come and follow the torch follow the light
Today there will survive no alcohol in sight
Get ready for tomorrows hangover you gonna fight
But that’s tomorrows sorrow so put it away
And now drink up Islander do as I say
Now lets get 2 Bottles of Black Mamba
Bring them to the fire to Miranda
Helen will join us there as well
And even this other guy Samu el
We all go over now to the fire
Whoever think he can drink more than me is a liar
To my drinking skills even the bartender
Will sooner or later surrender
So lets start the drinking competition
That I can earn your recognition
Bartender my bottle of Next is empty
And yours has still some in it as I see
Ouch I think that was to much of Next
So it increasingly gets harder to text
Bartender take this freestyle pays for the booze inside me
Sorry now I need to flee, I mean I have to pee

This page was found behind the crafting machine in crystal peak. It looks like it fell behind the machine and gathered dust for quite a while now. At first glance the page is full of wild scribbling as if someone tried to figure out something. But with a closer look you are able to identify the most important passages.

Today the Carthographer near Crystal Peak had a quite special task for me, he said he is working on a new process, since he has discovered how to extract genomes from DNA of yellow Papoo. With that process he can enable a person to temporarily take the form of a Papoo. He said if I stop monkeying around here and go out and kill some yellow papoo of higher maturity I can destroy or confirm that myth. I went out to the yellow papoo and indeed after killing tons of yellow papoo I found means to turn me into a papoo myself, but it lastet only for 15 minutes.

The next few passages are crossed out and some seem to be unreadable because some kind of liquid got spilled over them.

Today at my daily crafting I was thinking about my encounter with the yellow Papoo and was wondering if there is a way to replicate that effect of turning into the yellow Papoo with the right ingredients. My first thought went immediately to some Papoo ingredients to replicate that effect.
After this point there is a List of different combination of trying Papoo Palm together with Papoo heart and Papoo Tails , sometimes even combined with some crystals.
I think I know have a good Idea of what the ingredients are to replicate the effect:
4x Papoo Heart
100 x Papoo Tails
100 x Papoo Palm
18 Animal Oil Residue
The Papoo Ingredients need to be mortared to get enough DNA essence that you make consumable with some Oil Residue. I already did a first Test on an unsuspecting boar piglet, well it turned into a papoo but since it started to attack me, I cannot really say how strong the effect would have been. Now that I write down the story of the boar piglet experiment, Sebastian comes to my mind. What is if he was not a papoo before and consumed something similar like a mixture. I need to ask him if that is the case, before I go on and further research my blueprint.

This are the remains of a burnt page that was found at Boras Rock near the valley with all the Vulcan Drakes. In the middle of the Page there is still a readable part. The first words have some burnt letters but you might be able to make up what the author wanted to write.

N tha I hav w iten dow a summary of all my knowledge about dark lysterium, as well as all the best spots to find it. I will take my time to really appreciate the uniqueness of this ore. On no other planet have I ever found an ore that is as special as dark lysterium, not only in is capabilities as crafting material as listed above, but as well in its fascinating structure. This calls for a poem of appreciation of that ore. Now my dear diary it is time again for a poem, in the hope that I will not lose this page as others before and that I can capture the essence of dark lysterium in all its beauty.

The Lore of the Ore

We all know the ore named Lysterium
But this new ore is indeed a mysterium
It’s structure to lysterium quite similar
Also it’s surface looks familiar
It’s color black not white
To find it it’s quite a fight
I did hours of mining with no probes to spare
Finally realizing this ore must be really rare
It can be used for the Strider MK2
Or a texture if vehicles are not for you

Note to myself: I should really consider getting some sort of container, for my pages so I do not have them loosely in my bag all the time. I lost to many of my research and diary to my stupidness!

There is a last thing about dark lysterium not many people know, which makes it quite rare as well, but helps finding it when you want to mine for it. dark lysterium ac ua ly on y g

The lower part of the page is burnt as well, which makes it impossible to read on.

Introduction to crafting on Next Island

This guide will learn you the basics of crafting on Next Island. If you are already a more experienced crafter, feel free to skip the basics part and head straight to the part about crafting on Next Island.

Basics of Crafting

To get started click on the construction station on your right. You see a window with all your blueprints. If you do not see any blueprints, you do not own any, therefore you must go and speak to a technician to buy some blueprints. Once you have the blueprint you should see it on the interface of the construction station, first you should see what level the blueprint has, then the quality rating of that blueprint, followed by the success rate of crafting said item and, in the end, you see how many attempts you have. All you need to do now is gather the needed ingredients shown below. Ideally with a quality rating 0 blueprint this success rate should be at least 60 % this means you craft around your level. If you have a high enough crafting experience this success rate should go up to 81%. Look that you do not craft items where you have a low success rate otherwise you end up losing a lot of money. Note here that success rate does not equal successful tries. In my experience the successful tries will be about half of your success rate and the other half will be partly successful.

Crafting on Next Island

To start crafting on Next Island I advise you to go to the village below Paradise Landing! Just leave this building go to the right and you see a big sign that will lead you down to the village. When you are in the village make sure to talk to May the Crafting Instructor. She will give you the basics again but more importantly provide you with a Lesser Elysia Blueprint and some ingredients to make your first attempts. This is a basic but important Blueprint for Next Island; There is a multifaction daily of the loyalist, which requires you to do 50 attempts of this blueprint and awards you with a choice of limited blueprints specific to Next Island. Also make sure to visit Tanzanite View to fetch another quest to do 50 successful crafts of Lesser Elysia, if you complete this task, you will get loads of experience how to make textile. Well adventurer this is just a first small insight in all the crafting options Next Island have to offer! Explore yourself or get lucky and find some of my missing notes to get further insight.

I wish you the best of success.

This letter is fixed to a Strider near the starting area of the racetrack below Paradise Landing.

Greetings Racer

I hope you come across this piece of advice rather early than after many failed attempts trying to finish this race in time. As I approached this race, I did not really listen to what Greta had to say and just started the race with whatever vehicle I had in my inventory. I first tried out my Sleipnir and realised soon that the race is not meant to be done in your everyday vehicle. You need a very versatile vehicle that can go up and down the steep mountain and seamlessly hover across the water right after. The only vehicle that really meets all the requirements needed is a Strider. Before you now run to the next auction and buy a Strider MK.II off auction here is some advice. You can get a Strider MK.I version when you help the cartographer out. This is a slightly slower version of the Strider MK.II, but will be fast enough for you to complete the Track and is completely free besides your time for helping out the cartographer. You just need to first visit Norma Bates at Tanzanite View and then go on to visit the Resa Docks. If your done you get your Strider MK.I and are ready to approach the race. Make sure to still bring along multiple Papoo Tails, since you will need to give them Greta for each time you attempt to finish the race intime. Once you finish the race intime you get recognised by Greta as “master driver” on top of that you receive 10 Blueprints to craft a Strider MK.II. If you did not come across my introduction to crafting at Paradise Landing, here just my recommendation:

– Do not attempt to use those blueprints unless you have a 95% success rate, or you will be better of selling the blueprints and buy a Strider MK.II.
– If you are at 95% success rate, make sure you have about 10 ped Metal Residue to make your new vehicle fully durable.

I hope this letter have helped you so you can soon call yourself master driver and are a proud owner of a Strider.

Introduction to hunting on Next Island

This guide will learn you the basics of hunting on Next Island. If you are already a more experienced hunter, feel free to skip the basics part and head straight to the part about hunting on Next Island.

Basics of Hunting

To get started with hunting all you need is a weapon. If you do not have any weapon, you can buy one at the trade terminal. You will get experience with the weapon type you use. If you use knives for example, you will be a better knife fighter after the training, as well as getting better handling generally melee weapons. With growing experience, you can use stronger weapons of the type you learned. You can use and equip strong weapons when you start out, but since you are not trained at all you will miss most of your shots and waste your ammunition. Most important points you should remember:
– Choose a weapon of a type you like to hunt with
– Use a weapon you are maxed on or on which you have the skills to profit from the learning period of the weapon.
– Do not overkill during your hunt by using to strong weapons for small mobs.

Hunting on Next Island

Before you run to the trade terminal and buy some weapon, pass this sign, and go down the stairs to the small village. Speak to Joe the hunting instruction, he will give you some universal ammunition and a Elysia Prototype weapon you can use. He hits you up with the task to kill three nearby Papoo. Before you go to the Papoos I strongly advice you to visit Li the Healing Instructor first, there you will get a NI Herbbox New Settler Issue, a healing tool to keep you alive in case the papoo hit too hard. There are generally many people that can need help with the creatures around NI, a good start to get some daily missions is the Cartographer. He Will reward you for containing yellow papoo, screechers, village boars and grey papoo. Especially for starters it is a good way to start out doing his daily papoo missions.

This was just a small insight of how to get started with hunting on Next Island. There are loads tasks you can complete as a more experienced hunter as well, but I am not yet experienced enough to give you good advice on how to hunt those fiery drakes for example.

Good Hunt and take care.

You find this letter on the left palm tree that holds the big “Welcome to Next Island” Sign on Paradise Landing.

Introduction to mining on Next Island

This guide will learn you the basics of mining on Next Island. If you are already a more experienced hunter, feel free to skip the basics part and head straight to the part about mining on Next Island.

Basics of Mining

To start mining you need a finder, probes, and an extractor. The basic process is quite simple, you equip your finder and drop probes in the ground. If the probe hits a spot where ore is it will be shown on your finder. You will see the location and depths at which the Resources are. Now you just need to equip your extractor and extract the found resources. If you have extracted the resources, you can refine the raw ores and energy matters to get Ingots and refined materials for crafting. If you are after big resources, you can buy an amplifier and attach it to the finder to amplify your finds. This is quite expensive, so I suggest you do not use an amplifier when starting out with mining. As well you should look that you do not use the complicated and expensive finders like F-105 when you start out. You will be able to operate them, but you will not be able to use them efficiently. As with most things start out with a trade terminal finder.

Mining on Next Island

To get started head down the stairs in front of you and go to the small village. Make sure to speak to Herbert the Mining Instructor, he hit you up with the basic tools you need to get started with mining (Finder, Extractor, Refiner). Now you have the basic tools to explore Next Island and mine. Do not forget to get your daily multifaction task to drop 50 probes to get some extra blueprints from mining. If you ever make your way to Ancient Greece speak to Nicolas, in exchange for finding some Preatonium deposits he will show you some trick in either mining or prospecting. There are some special ores as well on Next Island, but some of the secrets I need to keep for myself and my journal.

Last advice to keep in mind: Start slow and slowly grow!

Good Luck with your probes.

Dear Sweaters

View this letter as a warm welcome and big thank you to the sweating community. For some it will be a welcome to NI as well as an entry to the sweating community. For other more seasoned players it should serve as a welcome to the new sweating location since many people moved from Sparta sweating to sweating below Crystal Peak Teleporter. Anyhow here s a song from your fellow sweater Patrikan Habaton:

Dear sweaters this is our song
Come join me and sing along
Come join the circle share your stories
Your experience on NI, fears, and worries
There is a place here for everyone
In the end we just want to have fun

In our circle together we stand
Under our feat we feel the sand
We get screechers in the middle one by one
While enjoying good talks and the sun
While the Screechers loose sweat and feathers
Come and join and sing along dear sweaters

This is a small PED making advise
Follow it and you have a positive surprise
If it is more sweat you need
Go and get some reload speed
Also don’t do something you regret
Never sell your sweat below 1.5 PED

In our circle together we stand
Under our feat we feel the sand
We get screechers in the middle one by one
While enjoying good talks and the sun
While the Screechers loose sweat and feathers
Come and join and sing along dear sweaters

If it is not an empty purse but boredom you fight
You should join the sweat circle at late night
Some might say it is just a drunken conversation
I say this is proper sweating education
They all share music through their Datapad
Some is funny, some is happy some is sad

In our circle together we stand
Under our feat we feel the sand
We get screechers in the middle one by one
While enjoying good talks and the sun
While the Screechers loose sweat and feathers
Come and join and sing along dear sweaters
